Margaret Joan Simonoff born on August 27th 1932 to Margaret and George Kelsey in Darien, Conn and passed away peacefully on August 12th 2024 in Aliso Viejo, California. Her mother immigrated from Scotland and her father immigrated from Turkey in their 20’s.

She graduated from Darien High School where she enjoyed singing and dancing, was frequently on the radio and produced a few records of her beautiful voice. She eventually went into Real Estate and worked as an agent for over 30 years in Rowayton, CT and in California.

She was married to her first husband Edward Blair Sage and had 3 daughters.

She moved to San Diego California in 1977 with her three daughters and her mother. She eventually moved and resided in the Orange County area.

She was a woman of exquisite taste; she was also passionate about her faith and sharing the love of our Lord with others. She enjoyed traveling, playing poker with her family on holidays, going to the Del Mar horseraces, she loved oysters or any seafood, taking good care of herself, and being with her family as much as she could.

She is survived by her 2nd husband William Simonoff, her daughters Kathy Sage, Susan Simpson and Alison Montroy; her grandchildren Christopher Smith, Megan Johnson, Kelsey Simpson, Jeremy Simpson, Ryan Gardocki, Sean Gardocki, Andrea Montroy and Natalie Simpson; her great grandchildren Malia Simpson, Barrett Johnson and Annora Johnson.

She is predeceased by her brother George Kelsey, of whom she loved so much, and we know she is happy to be rejoiced with him.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Joan is now into the arms of our Lord. Her physical presence will be missed but we know it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

There will be a visitation for friends and family at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, August 23rd from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Funeral Services to follow on August 24th, 9:30am at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, California.

A reception will take place at church after the funeral service and all family and friends are welcome to join for the burial following reception at 2:45pm. The interment will be at El Camino Cemetery in San Diego, California.
