Obituary

Hennessy, Margaret Peg Devaney. Peg, born on February 26, 1916 in Wilkes-Barre, PA passed away on April 20, 2011 in Laguna Niguel, CA. She was the widow of Benjamin Hennessy, the sister of Cecilia Devaney James, and brothers Ed Devaney and Joe Devaney, all deceased. She resided in Pennsylvania until 1976 when she and Ben moved to California to be with their daughter Peggy. Daughter Patricia remained in Pennsylvania until she and husband Bill Kalinowski moved to Meridian, MS in 1996. Pat is now Mrs. John Maloney after the passing of Bill. Peg lived in Meridian for five years and then returned to California. She was a happy and devoted mother who loved to dance, and specialized in baking and decorating cakes for any birthday. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel, CA.

In addition to children Pat John, Meridian, MS, and Peggy Jerry, Laguna Niguel, CA, she is survived by three granddaughters, Mary Pat Linton of Bailey, MS, Eileen Neugebauer of Mt. Prospect, IL, and Mara Boyack of Laguna Niguel, CA, and seven great-grand children.

Viewing will be at O’Connor Laguna Hills Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011. A funeral mass will held at St. Timothy Catholic Church at 29102 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre, PA at a later date.

  3. My Grammy, I love her very much and I will still be sending hugs and Love to her til we meet again!!I will always remember giggling w/her she had the best giggle ever!! She always spoke w/love Honesty and kindness.Even though times in life separated us in distance she is always in my heart!!
