Obituary

Margaret “Marge” Gunther, beloved mother of Jim, Harry and Margi passed away peacefully on July 26th. Marge was born in Maryland in 1922 and married Harry B. Gunther in 1940. Their first child, James, born in 1944, predeceased Marge when in his fifties. His wife Diane and their two sons, Michael and Todd, survive him. Her second child, Margi, is married to Mike McNelly and they have two children. John, age 34, is married to Brittany and together they have one child, Camden. Mike and Margi’s second child, Katherine, age 31, is married to Scott Robinson. Marge’s third child, Harry, is married to Kathryn.

Marge was a woman who provided support and care to everyone who entered her life. She embraced her extended family and friends and all those who they brought with them.

Marge moved from Los Angeles to Mission Viejo following the death of her husband 21 years ago. Over the years she enjoyed boating, golf, bowling and gardening. In her later years she liked to read, bird watch and spend time with her family. Marge was a kind and joyful person who brought a smile to faces of those around her. Her family will deeply miss their beloved mother and her friends and neighbors will miss Marge’s cheery personality.

Marge gave love freely and unconditionally, had a big heart and was truly a good soul.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in her name.
