IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manuel A.
Rivera
February 7, 1949 – August 9, 2024
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Manuel Rivera, age 75, on August 9th 2024, leaving behind his 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and his wife, Brenda.
Manuel, aka Manny, aka Uncle Boy, moved to Guam from the Philippines in 1972. He found the love of his life in high school and committed their love in marriage in 1975. They started their lives together in Guam and eventually moved to California 1979.
He committed his hard work and dedication with a pharmaceutical company to support and provide for his family and retired after 30 years.
He was first diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago and fought through surgery and treatments. As of last year, the cancer metastasized to his brain which led to more treatments and unexpected complications and then was called home to heaven.
He enjoyed watching sports especially Clippers and Dodgers and can karaoke all throughout the night. He was the king of the bbq and loved gambling at the blackjack table. He was the life of the party. His love and devotion to his family was unconditional and compelled him to never give up. He was courageous and our hero. Even with all that he has been through, our Dad was still a shining light. Always smiling and always stayed positive. He had so much strength and courage and fought for as long as he could. He was so loved by so many and will be remembered forever.
