Manolito V. Vitug
With gratitude for a life well lived and a heart devoted to family, faith, and service, we announce the passing of Manolito (“Lito”) V. Vitug, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Lito was born in Manila, Philippines, to loving parents, Isabelo and Pacita Vitug, on Nov. 15, 1936. The eldest of 5 siblings, Lito completed his post-secondary education at De La Salle University in the Philippines earning an MBA in Finance.
In 1979, despite an already comfortable lifestyle in the Philippines, Lito and his beloved wife, Evangeline (“Lane”) Aldana Vitug, unselfishly wished for a more opportune future for their children. And so with this dream and unrelenting prayer, Lito and Lane uprooted the family and emigrated to California. They landed and began their new life in America on Lito's birthday, November 15, 1979.
Living an unwavering life dedicated to the Catholic Faith defined the life of the family. Lito and Lane exemplified a deep devotion to our Lord Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. Joseph in the spirit of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, founded by St. Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer in 1928. To this day, that imprint of a life of prayer is embedded in the daily lives of their children.
Lito's instinctive entrepreneurship garnered him a distinguished and professional career encompassing key sectors of the business arena. In the capacity of a Corporate Officer, Lito worked at Warner Barnes Inc., Eurasian Commodities Inc., Bank of America, Manila Bank U.S.A, MV Financial, just to name a select few. He was the recipient of many leadership accolades throughout his professional career. A testimony rooted on a foundation of steadfast Integrity, prudence, and practical common sense.
Family was the heartbeat of Lito's life, and his greatest joy was spending time with them. He is survived by his children Noel, Martin (and wife Stephanie), Mark (and wife Ruth), Maritess (and husband Rick O'Donnell), Montse (and husband Mike Vroman), Todd Kupka (husband of deceased daughter Michelle), Michael (and wife Traci), Matthew, May (and husband Tom Stoddard), and the blessings of 25 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, mentor, and respected professional, Lito's influence impacted countless individuals. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, steady presence, sense of responsibility, and unwavering devotion to God and family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the values he instilled in those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Lito is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Lane, who passed away in April 1, 2020, and daughter Michelle.
We love you, and we'll miss you Dad!
