Joseph Perera, beloved husband, father & grandfather passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born in Ja-ela, Sri Lanka on December 16.For 52 years, Joseph was married to his beloved wife, Mercia Perera, who supported him in every aspect of their journey together. Their bond was a testament to their unwavering commitment and love for each other. They shared countless cherished moments and created a loving home filled with joy and laughter.

In the mid-2000s, Joseph & Mercia, followed by daughter Suba, migrated to the United States to be with their son Sam, daughter-in-law Thashika & grandchildren Shamika & Shanaka.

Joseph was a devoted father to his two children, Sam and Suba, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. He took great pride in their accomplishments and provided unwavering support and guidance throughout their journey. His love for his children knew no bounds, and he cherished the time spent with them.

As a doting grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Shamika, a 20-year-old junior at UCLA, and Shanika, a 19-year-old freshman at UCSB.

Joseph was a man of deep faith, finding solace and inspiration through his religious beliefs. He had a profound love for his Catholic faith and dedicated time each day to listen to the daily mass and recite the rosary. His spirituality was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life.

To honor Joseph's life and bid him a fond farewell, a funeral service will be held at Santiago de Compostela Church, 21682 Lake Forest Dr, Lake Forest, CA 92630, on June 17, 2023, at 12:00 noon. Following the service, a light reception will take place at 9 Rand Court, Coto de Caza, 92679. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and family to share memories, offer condolences, and find solace in each other's company.

Joseph Perera will be remembered as a devoted family man, a man of faith, and a pillar of strength. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved and admired him. May he rest in eternal peace.
