Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the demise of our beloved mother, Mrs. Kamalamma Nair on August 9, 2019, in Laguna Hills, California. Wife of late Major V. T Nair, she is survived by her daughter Anitha, son Arun, and their families. A loving wife, an amazing mother, a caring mother-in-law and a dedicated teacher, she left an indelible impression with her kindness and selflessness.

A Presidential Teaching Award recipient, she was an inspiration to her students, and helped shape the lives and careers of many.

We will miss her dearly but she will continue to live in the hearts of those she loved and cherished.

  1. Ammayi will be always in our prayers

  2. Nair Ma’am as we fondly called her at Kendriya Vidyalaya Meenambakkam, was a teacher par excellence. She taught biology with such passion that the school ended up creating several doctors, thanks to her tutelage. She loved each of her students, no matter how strong or weak they were in academics. She encouraged us all and gave us so much of love. Last met her during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of KV Sangathan at KV Meenambakkam, was humbled and moved when she recollected me by my full name. Rest in Peace Madam, and I wish you are reborn as a teacher and continue to spread your knowledge and love.

  5. Nair Miss ( as we used to call her) was our dear family friend. She is the person who made me fall in love with biology, and set my field on the path of healthcare. She stood by our family through thick and thin. An amazing woman, whose world revolved around her students and her Anita and Arun! Atma Shanti ?
