   It must be over 41 years ago that Mom received a call from Aunt Lu. She asked Mom, what are Diana’s favorite colors and what size is she? Mom called me to the phone and asked. I don’t remember what size I was then, but my favorite colors were blue and green.

   About a month later in the mail a package arrived. It was a pair of blue shorts and a green and blue polka dot sleeveless blouse, hand sewn by Aunt Lu. I literally wore that outfit out, long before I had a chance to outgrow it. I loved it and probably wore it 4 out of 7 days that summer. When I heard of her passing this week, I remembered that moment like it was yesterday. A gift from the heart and form her very capable and talented hands. Such a thoughtful thing that brought me so much happiness so many years ago.

   My deepest condolences to Peggy, Gary, Marian and Carole and your families.

   With sympathy on the loss of your lovely mother.

   Thanks for a new story for my Mom library. I remember the first dress she taught me to sew down to the print and pattern. I know sheets have enjoyed making that for you.
