Obituary

Louis John Vallas, of Coto de Caza, Ca, passed away February 09, 2016.

Lou was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 10, 1939 to Maria and John Vallas. He attended Topeka High School and went on to earn an Engineering degree from Kansas State University. After graduation, Lou worked for Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. He worked in Aeronautics and contributed to the first Viking Orbiter. After leaving JPL, Lou went to Conversion Equipment Corporation where he worked for 37 years as Co-owner before retiring in 1997. Lou loved to surround himself with family (especially his beloved dog, Molly), play golf, and watch USC football.

Louis is survived by his wife Deanna; son John and daughter Kristina; grandchildren Ben, Anna and Louis Whitney; sisters Frances Calys, Georgia Gruising and brother Jim Vallas.

Lou was one of the kindest, smartest and most humble of men. His quick wit and intelligence will be greatly missed. To respect Lou’s wishes there will not be a service. We will have a celebration of life to honor Lou’s time with us at a later date to be determined. It was a privilege and a joy to have loved Lou. We wish him only peace and comfort now that he is with the Lord.
