IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louanna Reithner
Robeson
September 3, 1926 – November 21, 2025
Louanna Reithner Robeson passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21 st , 2025, at the age of 99.
Born in Glendale, California September 3, 1926, to parents Howard Howells Jordan and Christine Jensen Jordan, Louanna grew up in a rural community in La Tuna Canyon.
She attended North Hollywood and Verdugo Hills High Schools and then went to UCLA. College not only helped prepare Louanna to become an elementary school teacher, it also provided the blind date during which she met her first husband, Don. It was love at first sight!
Louanna and Don were married 36 years until his death in 1985. They lived in La Cañada, moved to Dallas, returned to Palos Verdes and had three children and four grandchildren along the way. While in Texas, she and Don joined a small group of friends who built cabins on the shore of Lake Tawakoni. These ‘Lake Friends’ were some of her life’s closest. Both Louanna and Don also loved the ocean, and the family spent many happy summers in Laguna Beach at ‘Al’s Place.’
She met her second husband, Robie, the same way she met Don…on a blind date! They were married 30 years until his death in 2017, living in Hawaii, Dana Point and Laguna Niguel. With a natural interest in sports, Louanna quickly acquired Robie’s love of golf and they became active members of El Niguel Country Club where they made many close friends.
Louanna’s spirit of adventure was the catalyst for her travels to many exciting global destinations in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
Louanna served on the Board of the American Cancer Society of Los Angeles, acted as both President and Horse Show Chairman of the Portuguese Bend National Horse Show, was an active member of her local PEO Chapter and served as a deacon at Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church.
Louanna will be remembered as a loving mother and wife who selflessly served the needs of her family. She loved to entertain and was known for her clever ‘theme parties.’ Louanna was always eager to find an occasion to bring family and friends together. She lived life to its fullest…packing everything she could into her 99 years!
Louanna is survived by her children Susan Graham (Steve) of Dallas, Nancy Skinner (Ben) of Atlanta and Tom Reithner of Wenatchee, Washington. Also surviving her are stepsons Jim Robeson (Diana) of San Diego and Scott Robeson (Karen) of Minneapolis along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald G. Reithner, her second husband Robert (‘Robie’) H. Robeson and her granddaughter Lauren Christine Skinner.
A Celebration of Louanna’s Life will be held at 10:00am Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church, 30071 Ivy Glenn Drive, Laguna Niguel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church.
