Obituary

Florence ‘Lorraine’ Blackman passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Mission Viejo, CA.  Born February 18, 1920 in Omaha, NE, raised in South Dakota and Brooklyn, NY before settling in Salem, OR around 1950.  She reamined in Salem until a fall necessitated a move closer to family in 2003.  A well known and respected bookkeeper in Salem for more than 40 years; active in ABWA much of that time.  Lorraine will be remembered for her love of flowers and her backyard filled with an array of roses, dahlias, fuchias and a magnificent magnolia tree.
 
Her husband Rae ‘Bud’ Blackman preceeded her in death in 1988.  She is survived by her only daughter Sharon Pomeroy, Mission Viejo, CA; granddaughter – Shannon Pomeroy-Thompson, great-grandchildren – Austin & McKenzie Thompson of Duxbury, MA; Grandson Troy Pomeroy, great-grandchildren – Alexis & Trent Pomeroy of Trabuco Canyon, CA.
 
Services will be held at Virgil T. Golden’s in Salem on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 2 pm, graveside internment immediately following the service at Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem.
