Obituary

Lori Boultinghouse passed away at 81 years of age peacefully at her home of 43 years in the early morning of July 5, 2023. Lori was especially comforted in her last days with visits from family and life-long friends. On July 4th, the day before she died, three of her grandchildren Kathryn, Robert and Ruth visited. They stayed up late with her visiting and keeping her comfortable and telling her interesting things, which was one of her favorite past times. They spent hours at her bedside along with her brother Jimmy and daughter Jill.

Loraine Theodora (Casper) Boultinghouse was born April 13, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Janet Torrey (Coleman) and John Bernard Casper. She was the fifth of eight children, with one sister and six brothers, highlighted by her endless adoration for her youngest brother, Jimmy.

At age 18, Lori left Milwaukee to live in Chicago and within two years moved west to Los Angeles. She met her husband Richard "Dick" Fella Boultinghouse in her apartment building, and they married three months later on March 7, 1964. The couple welcomed their first child, Janet Torrey the following year.

Dick and Lori relocated to Newport Beach, California in 1966 where their next two children were born: Barbara Lynn and Richard Patrick. In 1970, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Jill Elizabeth was born. The family, through Lori, made many close family friends. With one close friend, Lori started the charity for the developmentally disabled then called Las Madrinas.

Lori and her family returned to Southern California in 1980, moving this time to Laguna Hills. Jimmy and their mother Janet Casper moved in with her and Dick in 1997. Her husband DIck passed away in 2015, and she was further heartbroken when her daughter Torrey passed in 2018.

Lori was passionate about people and politics. Her family and friends were her highest priority. She was known for her witty sense of humor, but especially her kindness, compassion and generosity to those in need.

Lori was preceded in death by her husband Richard Boultinghouse and her daughter Janet Torrey Boultinghouse Krebs. Lori is survived by three of her children Barbara Deming (Patrick), Patrick Boultinghouse (Kara) and Jill Boultinghouse, her son-in-law Mark Krebs, her brothers Paul and Jimmy Casper, and her nine grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Phoebe (Boultinghouse), Stuart, Ainsley (Deming), Kathryn, Richard, Robert and Ruth (Krebs).

Funeral Services will be held at St Kilians Church in Mission Viejo, California on July 31 at 3pm.

A special thanks to Maria Paz for her continued care and friendship for the past 25 years.
