Lisa Michelle Prukop Rosenberry passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Irvine, CA, leaving behind a deep imprint of love, as well as cherished memories for all who knew her. She was 54 years young, and is survived by her son Hunter, husband Jed, and mother, Marilyn (her father, Nick, had passed just a month ago).

The only daughter of Nick Prukop and Marilyn McGowan, Lisa was born on McConnell Air Force Base in the early morning hours of September 15, 1971. Nick and Marilyn met at Syracuse University and married shortly after graduating in 1968 as Nick entered the Air Force. After Nick was discharged from the Air Force, the family settled in southern California (with a brief stay in Boise, ID during Lisa’s elementary school years).

Living in Playa del Rey, CA, Lisa developed a deep interest in travel as she watched planes depart LAX airport as a little girl. Later the family moved to Irvine where Lisa attended Woodbridge High School and developed her life-long love of writing. That love led to admission to the University of Southern California (FIGHT ON!! ✌️), where again she was a contributor to the school paper, The Daily Trojan, and a proud founding member of the USC chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority; she graduated in 1993 with the top GPA in her sorority.

After graduation Lisa worked in a number of corporate communications and investor relations roles in companies as varied as Computer Sciences Corporate and Boyd's Wheels. Her biggest adventure came in 1998 when she moved to Tokyo. While not speaking a word of Japanese and knowing few to no people, Lisa quickly found work with a branding firm and later opened a branch of that firm in Los Angeles to serve the North American market. While living in Tokyo she explored Korea, China and Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia and more islands than can be confidently recounted. Ever the ‘sporty-spice’ type, Lisa was also an accomplished diver and skier.

Lisa lived a life defined by her endless curiosity, devotion to her family and friends, bringing gentle strength, a compassionate spirit and the ability to light up every room she entered. The Life of the Party was a title she earned and relished. She shared a profound and lasting love with her husband, Jed, who was deeply protective of her, navigating life’s journey side by side with unwavering partnership and affection. Her commitment to her son was iron-clad and beyond reproach even during challenging moments in her life.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, her global circle of friends, and everyone whose lives were touched by her kindness. Her memory remains a guiding light and a comfort to those who loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held Friday, August 28 from 7 to 9pm at O’Connor’s Mortuary in Laguna Hills, to honor her spirit and share memories of this most beloved woman.
