Linda
Wakeman
Aug 30, 1943 — Sep 3, 2026
Linda Folts Malfanti Wakeman went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2026, passing away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 30, 1943, in San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and Christine and Jennifer’s father, Robert Malfanti, who tragically passed away of a brain tumor in 1981. Linda and Robert built a joyful life on Queens Lane in San Mateo, where they made lifelong family friends. In 1976, they embarked on a two year adventure with their girls, moving to Tehran along with a few other families for Robert’s job, an experience that stayed with her for the rest of her life. After Robert’s passing, Linda handled her loss with grace, raising two amazing, strong daughters on her own. She was also married to Thomas Wakeman for 28 years; he passed away in 2021.
Linda had a long career at Nordstrom, where she consistently achieved All-Star employee status for her top sales performance. Fittingly, one of her favorite things to do was take a trip to Nordstrom.
Linda was known for her style, her love of entertaining, and above all else, being the best Nana. She loved decorating her home and celebrating the holidays with her family, and she spent hours playing with all of her grandkids, always making time for them no matter what. She was famous in the family for her French toast and chocolate chip cookies. Linda was also a lifelong dog lover, and there was always a dog by her side throughout her life. We have no doubt she’s rejoicing in heaven with Robert, listening to John Denver together.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Christine Malfanti Burke and her husband John Burke, and their children Kyle and Kendra Burke; and Jennifer Malfanti Martin and her husband Tim Martin, and their children Jake, Hannah, and Grace Martin. She is also survived by her two favorite grand-dogs, Duke and Franklin.
