Obituary
Linda Verdone, 80
August 18, 1941 – January 17, 2022
Mission Viejo, CA
Linda Verdone, 80, went home to our heavenly father on Monday January 17, 2022 after a long illness. She was wife of husband Frank Verdone of 63 years, mother of Maria Lane, and late son Peter (2008). Nonna, Grandmother of Michelle, 24 and Joey, 22.
Born in Pescara, Italy on August 18, 1941 to the late Mikel and Antonietta DeFelice and stepmother Concetta Dioguardi. She was preceded in death by her son Peter and siblings Domenico, Nicolino, Aldo, Serafina, and Emma.
She had many nieces and nephews both in Italy and on the East Coast, where she lived for more than 50 years. Linda moved to the United States in 1954 at the age of 14, and graduated High School at Malden Catholic. Linda met Frank through friends and married in 1958. At the age of 18 she sang in the choir at church on Sundays.
Linda had many occupations in her life. She was a seamstress, hairdresser, and her last being Quality Control Manager at Motorola. She also worked at son Peter’s Italian restaurant with daughter-in-law Tania.
She loved to cook for family and friends and her house was always filled with people, especially on Sundays. She loved being outside in the sun, gardening, and going to the beach.
For many years they lived independently at a senior community in Mission Viejo, where they made a few friends. Several years later, they moved in with Maria and her family so they could help with taking care of them. It was not easy living with six adults under one roof, but with God’s love and guidance, we were all blessed with love, support, happiness and lots of food for 3 1/2 years.
We will miss your strong will, and your beliefs and listening to your life stories. I will miss you and our coffee on the weekends, cooking together in my kitchen, gardening, doing girl things, and eating garlic French Fries at Lulu’s together.
Now you are our Angel looking over us. See you in heaven, Ma!

Frank, Maria and family,
Sorry for the loss of Linda. So many wonder memories growing up and living next to you and your family in Stoneham. My heart still aches for the loss of Peter even after all these years. I know he is reunited with your mother Linda in heaven. Let us take comfort in that. God bless you and your family.
