Obituary

On November 7th, 2023, we lost our beloved Linda Lee Schonert, who joined the angels in heaven above. Born on July 15th, 1943, to Josephine (Nanny) and Gilbert Burns, Linda grew up in Southern California alongside her four sisters and a niece close in age. The “Burns Girls” maintained the deepest of bonds and passed down their values to future generations. Linda met the love of her life, Ernest Schonert, and they married and moved to Anaheim Hills, where they raised two children, Robbin and Ernie.

Linda was known for her amazing spirit, welcoming smile, and endless hugs. She loved the sun and enjoyed spending time at the beach or poolside. She had a love for travel, adventure, good food, wine, and fine jewelry. Linda also adored her grandchildren and planned special sleepovers that included trips to the zoo, aquarium, or movies. As her family expanded, she also cherished time with her great-grandchildren. Family gatherings brought Linda immense joy, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Some of our fondest memories of Linda include her dancing and singing do-wops in the kitchen while drinking cappys.

Linda will always be remembered as a cherished daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her bright energy and vivacious spirit will live on through the memories and moments we shared with her, which will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on December 2nd from 10 AM – 12 PM at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills. Those wishing to send flowers, can do so by December 1st before 4 PM.
