Obituary

Linda Darlene Sarfaty, passed away May 5th, 2018 at the age of 66 years old.  She was born on January 11, 1952 to her loving Mother Victoria Hassan.   Linda is survived by her three wonderful children, twin daughters Shauna Aiello and Shelly Seedorf along with her son David Berlotti. A Grandmother to her Grandsons Christian (25) and Colin (16), Shelly and Paul Seedorf sons. Along with Kage (14) and Caden (14), Jamie and David Berlotti’s twin boys.

Although she was born in Los Angeles, she lived most of her life in Orange County, California.  Early on, she started working as a phone operator and 35 years later she retired a Phone Line Specialist for New Communities at AT&T.  Linda loved to sew and made many clothes and costumes for her children.  She enjoyed Christmas along with all the decorations. She loved collecting stamps, coins, bells and shot glasses.

Linda spent many family vacations camping at Carpentaria Beach, CA and in Lake Havasu, AZ. She owned a SeaDoo and would take her oldest Grandson Christian out on the lake every chance she got.  She also enjoyed watching her Grandson Colin play Football as well as Kage and Caden play baseball.

NFL Football was a passion of hers or should we say Peyton Manning.  In 2010 Linda took her son David to Super Bowl XLIV in Miami Florida to watch Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts vs the New Orleans Saints, a dream come true. She also loved to attend red carpet events such as the People’s Choice Awards. Star Trek was an all-time favorite; she was a true Trekkie! One of her other favorites was Castle and everything Nathan Fillion starred in.  In 2015 she took her family to Comic-con and Nathan Fillion invited her to sit front row VIP.  As the event started he came in grabbed her hand and gave her a kiss on the cheek. This was one of the best days of her life.

She enjoyed getting dressed up with her collection of jewelry and getting her hair done.  She had a beautiful smile with big bright eyes. She will be truly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.

The times we spent with Aunt Linda were memorable! She taught me to play hearts and tried to teach me the latest dances they were doing on American Bandstand. I loved staying with her and Sam after Shelly and Shauana were born. She let me hold the girls and feed them like they were my little dolls. She made great gravy and pecan pie at Thanksgiving. But you didn’t mess with her….she was no nonsense! She will be missed. My condolences to Shelly, Shauna, David and their families. All My Love, Kim Mitchell

  2. Too many years went by without contact, I moved from California to the east coast and we lost touch. But we picked up like two old friends who had just seen each other the day before. I was surprised to see how much you’d changed, time and illness had not been kind to you. But your young feisty spirit shone through, that hadn’t changed.

I remember you lending a silk Evan Piccone blouse to me, I think for an interview for a job or something like that. I felt so special wearing it. I gently washed it and started to iron it and burnt a hole in it. I felt so bad and was afraid to tell you, but when I did, instead of getting mad you treated me with kindness and gave the blouse back to me. Needless to say, neither one of us ever wore that blouse again.

In our last conversation you asked me to be your plus one for your son David’s wedding. You were so excited and anticipating that special day, I’m sorry you won’t be able to attend. I guess that I’ll be your plus one another time, another place in the future.

    Rest in peace my friend,

    Marlene

I unfortunately did not have an opportunity to meet Linda and am thankful to have the opportunity to read the kind stories shared by her family and friends. I work with David and know how much he supported his mother and will miss her deeply. My thoughts and prayers go out to David and his family.

I’m have so many fond memories of my Auntie and all the times we shared. She was a major part of our family as I was growing up, spending lots of time at our home and being more of a sister to us than an auntie. I watched her go from a teenager to an adult to a wife and then a mother. We spent a lot of time camping at Lake Havasu and In Blyhe on the river. Linda love being on the water and sharing these times with her family. At one point in our lives we were roommates, sharing our household in Riverside. So many memories, so many good times.

  5. I’ll never forget you my, dear childhood friend. I have my memories and a few photos to hold on to you. My sincere condolences to Linda’s children, grandchildren, and family.
