Lillian Ann Jans

Lillian Ann Jans, 98, of Mission Viejo, CA, died on November 27, 2023, in Mission Viejo, CA.

She was born Leocadia Baranowski, on July 19, 1925 in Lemont, IL. Her family were members of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Lemont. She worked all of her life in the accounting field, retiring at the age of 88 from Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church, Lake Forest, CA. Along with her husband, Steven F. Jans, they built several small businesses together in IL and CA. She was a life-long learner with a persevering spirit, who always held her faith and family as her highest priority.

Lillian, a most loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is survived by her son, Dennis Jans (Christina) of Laguna Niguel, CA, daughters Diane Smith (John) of San Jacinto, CA, and Debora Dubeau (Mark) of Ladera Ranch, CA; along with six grandchildren, Sarah Jans, Nora Jans, Ellen Mueller, Colin Jans, Steven Dubeau, Carolyn Dubeau and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Sophie Baranowski, her husband, Steven F. Jans, sisters, Irene Mokate Heine and Dolores Baranowski, brothers George Baranowski and Valentine Baran.

Lillian will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery, Lake Forest, CA following a Funeral Mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 29102 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA, on Monday, December 11, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, St. Timothy Conference, 29102 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA.
