Obituary

It is with great sadness and joy that we announce Lillian F. “Lil” Grabowski, age 84, of Laguna Niguel, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her home on April 5, 2025.

Lillian was born on October 25, 1940, to Frank and Hedwig Gloskoski in Brooklyn, New York.  After Lillian graduated from Bay Ridge High School, she went on to Hunter College, but her studies were interrupted forever when she met a handsome, young, Army serviceman named Ed at a Polish dance in Brooklyn, New York.  Her studies then shifted from college to becoming a Domestic Engineer aka “homemaker”.  They were married within a year and started a family nine months after they were wed.  They became a loving and inseparable team of 66 years, since that very first dance.

Lil treasured her family, enjoyed working in Real Estate and was passionate about the ballet and arts.  Loved going to horse shows, and attending football games cheering on the USC Trojans and the Anaheim Angels MLB team.  If she could, she would have loved to be a gemologist and study the beautiful gems God sprinkled on the earth.  She had a passion for knowledge and shared her knowledge with many.  She searched for the truth in different religions and joyously accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  A favorite bible verse she lived by was from Joshua 24:15, But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  Making Calvary Chapel then later Saddleback Church her church home where Lil attended and immersed herself in serving with others and with her family members.  Along the way creating numerous relationships among the many changing seasons that God divinely guided her through.

Lillian is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Grabowski, two daughters, Denise Velardes and Doris Bryant (James), three grandchildren, Ashley Franz (John), Richard Velardes (Monica), and Nicole Bryant, and great-granddaughter Addison Franz, all of whom she cared for and loved deeply.

Lillian was an only child, but she also leaves behind a number of special in-law family members and their children.

A graveside service will be held for family and close friends on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1:30pm at the Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500  Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, California 92625.  There will be a light reception immediately following at The Covington, 3 Pursuit, Aliso Viejo, California 92656.

We welcome anyone who would like to bring a photograph of Lillian or write a note to leave or send as a special gift for Ed.  These mementos will serve as a sweet, meaningful way to remember her by.

All flowers can be sent to O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, California 92653.
