Smith, Lillian Marie Figley, 100, of Mission Viejo died January 24, 2009 of natural causes. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 10, 1908 to Delia Foley and Robert Figley. Married Donald E. Smith in Des Moines, Iowa on June 26, 1936. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years. Lillian is survived by her sons, Leonard and Peter Eileen and daughter, Marcia Goates Richard; grandchildren, Mark, Donna, Gregory and Edward and 8 great-grandchildren. She attended Drake University and served in many community auxiliaries and service projects during WWII. She and her husband Donald traveled extensively and retired in Mission Viejo in 1987. Lillian was a talented seamstress and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Kilian Catholic Church.
