Obituary

Lieselotte “Lisa” Beyersdorf was a devoted wife, mom, Oma, green thumb, German Fußball fan, and the strongest woman we’ve ever known.

Lisa was born August 4, 1944, in Wilczkowice, Germany, to Rudolf and Amanda Zindler. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in Braunschweig, Germany. At the age of 21, she moved to St. Joseph, Michigan, where she met a young seminary student named Allen Beyersdorf. Allen and Lisa dated and wrote letters to each other while he was in seminary school before marrying at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 28, 1971. The next year, Matthew was born. In 1973, they moved to California when Allen received a call to establish Living Word Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo, California. In Mission Viejo, they welcomed the births of Heidi and Andreas.

Lisa and Allen raised the kids, and she assisted him at the church. In addition, she earned an accounting degree and started working as an account manager at various companies that made everything from computers to dinosaurs. Lisa was also a fighter, defeating cancer in 1995 and helping her husband fight against his cancer for ten years. When Allen was called home to Heaven in 2011, she retired.

Lisa entered Heaven through the grace of God on March 31, 2025. She is preceded in death by Allen, her parents, and her siblings. We envision that Allen is painting pictures while Lisa is planting flowers to beautify their heavenly mansion. Lisa is survived by her daughter, Heidi; her son Andreas; her son Matthew and his wife, Amy; and her grandsons, Jacob and William, the sons of Matthew and Amy.

Lisa will be laid to rest on May 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at El Toro Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary or the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her honor.

We know that our Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
