Obituary

Lt. Col. Leslie T Howard, USAF (Retired), born in Miliken, LA in 1928 to the late Charles and Gladys Howard. Brother to his siblings: Charles, Edwin, Margaret, Henry Maureen, Donald and Jim.

Les attended McBride High School and St. Louis University where he obtained his Master Degree in finance.

He married Eleanor (Ellen) Wilson in 1951 and they had three children: Susan Lieber, Diane Cuyler (Scott) and Jeanne Howard. He had five grandchildren; Brian Gandolfo, Katherine Cuyler, Madeline Cuyler, Jessica Kemp, Johnny Kemp, and great-grandson Zion Gandolfo.

Les was in the Marine Corps from 1946-1947 and later joined the U.S. Air Force retiring after 34 years of service. He also worked at Mckendree College in Lebanon, IL for five years in the finance department.

He spent his retirement in Laguna Niguel, CA from 1990-2013. He was a gifted athlete and enjoyed soccer, golf, and basketball. He will be remembered for his love of God, family and country.

We will all miss him, but know he is peaceful in the hands of God.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday January 29, 2013 11:00am at St. Timothy Catholic Church 29102 Crown Valley Parkway Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. A visitation will take place at the church at 10:30am, prior to mass. Burial will take place at Mira Mar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122, following the mass.
