It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leonel "Nel" Gutierrez announces his passing on August 10, 2026, at the age of 77, in Irvine, California.

Leonel was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, where he completed his schooling at San Beda High School.

In the mid-1980s, Leonel immigrated to the United States where he met his wife, Teresa, in San Francisco, California.

Leonel was known for his warmth and his love of gathering with family and friends.

Leonel is survived by Teresa, his beloved wife of 40 years; his stepsons, Dominic Santos and Ramon Santos; his four grandchildren, Elyse, Sydney, Anthony, and Ryan; and his siblings, Rose and Nick.
