Leona Pearl
Mcculloch
March 12, 1946 – May 14, 2021
Leona Pearl McCulloch March 12, 1946 to May 14, 2021
Leona Pearl McCulloch (née Bailey), 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Laguna Hills on May 14, 2021. She was born on March 12, 1946 in Los Angeles, California to her wonderful parents Bill and Esther Bailey. She attended Belmont High School where she received recognition for her scholastic achievements and was an accomplished tennis player. Prior to getting married she obtained an Associates of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development.
Leona loved to drive and take long, cross country road trips. She enjoyed travelling to family farms to visit with extended family and pet the cows, her favorite animal.
A truly devoted mother, she raised 3 boys. Amazingly, she made sure her boys were ready for school every day before going to her day job as a secretary and then to her night job at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. She eventually rose through the corporate ladder in the auto industry to become an extremely successful finance manager.
Her vibrant personality and amazing spirit could overcome any challenge. She conquered multiple sclerosis, adapted to blindness from a stroke and battled leukemia, never missing a family event or one of her grandkids’ accomplishments.
She is survived by her cherished sister and guardian angel, Cindy Neumann and her treasured brother-in-law, Charlie Neumann. She loved her nieces, Colleen and Sarah; her nephew, Michael; her great niece, Tyler; and great nephews, Aiden and Bode.
Her legacy will be carried on through her three grateful sons: Billy, Johnny and Robbie; her 10 eternally adored grandkids: Nathan, Kate, Emma, Timothy, Connor, Isabella, Shannon, Nick, Brianne and Bryce; her two daughters-in-law: April and Nicole; and her best friend, Jan.
With her last breath, she proclaimed to her family, “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, starting at 7:30 a.m., at O’Connor Mortuary located at 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a graveside ceremony at El Toro Memorial Park starting at 10:00 a.m.
