Obituary
Leland Thomas Leslie, 64, of Mission Viejo, California, passed away the morning of Wednesday, March 26, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Leslie; his son, William; his younger sister, Billie; and his four grand-children. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 31 at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, 24772 Chrisanta Drive in Mission Viejo.
He was known by most as ‘Lee’ but his family called him ‘Tommy’. He was born in San Diego, California, on April 7th, 1949 and was raised in Chula Vista, California. He had one of those personalities that made it easy for everyone to love him: He was a great role model to his family and worked diligently to achieve success in all aspects of his life. He was an avid fisherman and often spent his time on Lake Mission Viejo, where he caught award-winning bass that he could be seen smiling with in Bassmaster magazine. Leland was one of the most giving people you’d ever know. He never gave anything but the best to his family and made sure to establish deep relationships with everyone despite any distance. Leland will never be forgotten by those who survive him. We love him so much and he will be deeply missed until we are all united with him once again. May he rest in peace with God and Tommy to live happily in eternity.

Uncle Lee was the best. If you were someone close to him he would do anything in the world for you. He was such a great guy and I always admired what a wonderful father and husband he was to his family. He was such a hard worker, but also new how to have fun! I will always remember the singing, music, karaoke, and great times at their home. We will miss you Uncle Lee! I know you and Tommy are up there singing together!

You were the most caring loving protective brother a sister could have. I was always so proud at how hard you worked for those you loved how much you loved your family. Remembering the early years of sitting in your room singing to the 45’s while you were flexing your muscles in the mirror oh yeah you called them guns.Or shooting marbles with you in the back yard and I know you cheated me for my good marbles.Always soft spoken with that heart warming smile. I know you will be watching over us all and taking care of mom dad and little Tommy. I will miss you all the days of my life. Love you. Until we meet again dear brother. Thank you for so many wonderful memories.

Uncle Tommy was a great loving guy and I’ll never for get when he threw me a big reunion so I can meet the rest of my family, he was so caring and I’ll cherish the few times we got to spend together forever. Never had the chance to go fishing but I’ll keep him in my heart forever

R.I.P. uncle Tommy u were taken away from us way too soon! I wish I would have gotten the chance to see u when I visited from miami and I also wish u would have never cheated mom out of her marbles cuz I think that’s why she always cheated brandi and I out of our turn on Atari (lol!) May u be reunited with grandma, grandpa, and cousin Tommy to watch over us all. Tell them I miss them all dearly! I can’t attend the funeral in person but I will be there in spirit. My heart goes out to Marilyn and Billy in these tough times. I miss u all and wish I could be there for you
