Obituary

Leila Mae Davis of Laguna Niguel, Ca. passed quietly in her sleep on 04/26/09 at the age of 88.  She was born in Malvern, Arkansas in 1921 and was preceded in death by her husband George E. Davis.

She is survived by her three children, Bill Davis of Dana Point, Deena Pierce of San Diego, and Suzi Osuna of Palm Springs, and her five grandchildren, Serena, Jordan, Harrison, Andrew and Anna.

She was an exceptional woman, and a wonderful mother that bestowed upon her family a strong sense of faith and compassionate, mothering love.  She will be missed so much, but with the sadness is the joy that she has gone home to be with Our Lord and Savior.  We love you, mom.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Williams Syndrome Association.

  1. Deena, Bill, Susie, and your families: Please know that my heart is with you all and accept my condolences. Your mom and my Nana were the only family that could make it to my wedding and will for that and many other reasons always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless!!

  2. Bill, Deena & Suzie,
We will all miss your mom terribly. Every time Mom watches the Lakers or the Rockets play, we will think of her. They always called each other after the games. But I also have happy memories of Aunt Leila Mae– Remembering Mom and Leila Mae singing those silly songs from when they were young and laughing and remember the constant chatter when they got together? They were so entertaining! But now I know she is in a wonderful place, with Bud, and will always be so close to our hearts. We would have liked to come out and be with you but it would be difficult for Mom to make the trip. We love ya’ll and will keep you in our prayers.

  3. Deena,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I’m sure she was a wonderful mother. She did a great job instilling her traits in you.
You are loved by our family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Love,
    Glenda

  5. Dear Deena, Suzi, and Bill,

So sorry to hear about your loss, but rejoice in the fact that she’s in her eternal home, and reunited with George and family. Me and Mom remember Leila Mae well. When Mom came to visit, Leila instisted that we visit the Palm Springs condo, because we had never been. We drove in at night, so couldn’t see a whole lot. I remember waking up and looking out at the pool, flowers, greenery, mountains, and being overwhelmed. We thought we were in Heaven! We actually shed a tear when we left! The photos are precious. She was beautiful in that teal suit/black tie picture, and the black & white of her and George is classic. Leila was a great blend of Southern Cal with deep South roots. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Love,

Eunice, Johnny, and all the Harris’ back in North Carolina
