Larry was born the 8thof 10 children on the 21stof February 1932 to Peter and Jennie (Vernizzi) Bertino. He was raised in Channahon Illinois until, at the age of 14, he left home to join the Monastery at Mt. Larry married Ruth Marie (Tucker) Bertino in 1981 and the two settled in Laguna Hills.  They had a beautiful marriage during which they traveled the world together for 37 loving years.  They were actively involved in the Laguna Hills Cityhood Committee as well as Larry being on the Orange County Grand Jury, and a long-standing member of The Supervisory Committee for NuVision Federal Credit Union.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife Ruth and his two daughters Laurell Cecile Bertino and Deborah Helene (Bertino) Allee.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death was his granddaughter Brittany Leigh Booth.

Larry is also survived by a brother Raymond John, and a sister Mary Ann Crater.  He is preceded in death by his siblings Edith Victoria, George Peter, Robert Michael, Margaret, Elizabeth Ann, Thomas Joseph, and Joseph Charles.

  4. Uncle Larry was a caring, funny guy that was great to talk to when he visited! I really enjoyed my trip to California when I was younger & the beach house, Knotts Bery Farm & lots of other adventures. You will definitely be missed by many!
    Your niece Michelle

  5. What I will always remember about Uncle Larry is his ability to make others feel good! Larry was a great conversationalist, and he was geniunely interested in others. He was eager to do whatever was possible to make others feel at ease. When visiting him in California, he and Ruth made us feel like royalty. Larry was a wonderful host and great storyteller 🙂 I pray that Larry is reunited with his parents & siblings in heaven, and they are rejoicing in the company of Our Lord this day.

    Welcome Home Uncle Larry!
