Obituary

Laurie Connelly was born November 7, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to Catherine and George Miller. She attended Sacred Heart High School and the University of Dayton before going on to teach in her hometown of Pittsburgh. Laurie reconnected with, and subsequently married, her childhood sweetheart, Jed Connelly. They were married for a wonderful 51 years and delighted in raising three children: Kate (Connelly) Schlie, David Connelly, and Emily (Connelly) Jordan.

Laurie was very involved in the community, volunteering for such organizations as Families Forward, Meals on Wheels, and the Assistance League Thrift Shop. She was a longtime parishioner at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, enjoyed playing Mah Jongg and canasta with friends, and spending time with her six grandchildren (and planning for one on the way). Laurie loved to travel, and was fortunate enough to do it extensively. Quick witted, deeply thoughtful, and smart as a whip, Laurie will be missed but always remembered by those she whose lives she touched. Mass will be held Friday, March 6, 2020, at 8:30am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Irvine. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Laurie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  3. Jed, our thoughts as prayers go out to you and your family. She was a wonderful person. I was friends with Laurie and her brothers Jim and George when I lived in Munhall. My Mother, Ursula Jenkins, taught with Laurie’s mom, Catherine, for years and were close friends. I was shocked to learn of her passing. May she Rest In Peace.
    Fondly, Bob Jenkins

I just heard of Laurie’s passing.I’m sure you miss her so much. She was a vibrant lady and I remember her fondly.

Do you remember Dave and me from Audubon, Jed?

Laurie and I were good friends in high school.

    Love and Best Wishes.
