  1. Laura was an excellent nurse with excellent clinical skills and great compassion for her patients. I was always glad she was the nurse for my patients. We often shared stories about being a mom and my heart goes out to the family she left behind. God bless her in the Kingdom and my prayers for her family.

Although I hadn’t had the opportunity to know Laura, my sympathy is with those who did know her. We are promised a wonderful future when there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24:15. Those who have fallen asleep in death will see life again and what a joyous time this will be on earth. Psalms 37:29; John 11:11,34-44. Jehovah God truly cares.

I have a special place in my heart for Laura, and always will. Ive been her hairdresser here in Mission Viejo and enjoyed her company so very much. She’d schedule to come in, usually after her work shift, and though she was obviously tired, she’d always somehow spark up a fun conversation! Her smile, that laugh, and sincere passion for her family, friends, home, work, and everything she did was so refreshing! I looked forward to receiving her hilarious texts saying ‘Ed desperately needs a cut, or he’ll be in the doghouse’, to her story of how she came home after our appointment and Kai said “mommy, you look handsome”…an incredible wife and mother, my love goes out to Ed, Kai, and all her wonderful family and friends! As i looked at my schedule and saw her next appointment is on my books for end of December, I immediately came to the realization I’d like to keep it on there. And instead of working that timeslot we’d originally booked for her, on someone else, I’m going to take a nice long walk, in memory of this beautiful woman…

  5. Today is June 29th 2014, and I found this out on a web search. Laura was that type of person. Years after meeting her for the first time, and years after hearing her voice for the last time, she never left my consciousness. I can truly say I am more enriched for the time that I knew her.
We would go for Pizza in Santa Monica, or share a pitcher of beer in Pasadena, and top it off with a few games of pool, or just set up camp in the waiting area of the original El Cholo in Los Angeles with friends, and spend hours talking and laughing all the while we were having margaritas and a myriad of appetizers with friends, or sometimes just us two.
I am in a state of shock, with little reference for how to process this, and I feel ashamed that I stumble upon this sad news after some time has passed. I truly hope Laura’s loved ones take some comfort in knowing she touched many lives.
I met Laura at Cal Poly Pomona. She was a recent transfer from Ball State, and I had her in a variety of communication classes. I was immediatley drawn to her. She was a very friendly, empathetic, and accepting person. Her laugh would seem to eminate from deep inside her, from her core rather than from how most people laugh from the throat. I liked how she was so genuine and unpretentious. She was witty, with a great sense of humor, and a genuine curiosity that I believe, gave her that essence that was her, quick to smile, and to laugh, and to love.
    I will miss you Laura.

    Love
    Marc Martinez
