Obituary

Laura Lee Jones Schubert, born March 26, 1970, 46 years, of Newport Beach, went to be with the good Lord on June 15, 2016. Laura Lee graduated from Carden Hall, Newport Harbor High School and went on to earn her nursing degree with honors from Loma Linda University. At an early age she involved herself in the community as a candy striper at Hoag Hospital, Children Home Society; debutant 1988. She was married to Scott Paul Schubert and together they raised their daughters Heidi, 15, and Hannah, 17. Her charming ability to light up a room with her gorgeous smile and sparkly blue eyes was adored by the lives she touched with her grace and beauty. She welcomed everyone with a warm heart and her smile was truly infectious. She had the reputation of always knowing exactly what to say and never failed to make one feel at home. She shared her faith with others and cared deeply about her family and friends.

Laura Lee enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating, shopping, but most of all she had a strong passion for making their home a happy place. Her daughters are and forever will be her pride and joy and she loved them to the moon and back.

This amazing mother leaves behind her loving family, daughters, Heidi and Hannah Schubert; mother, Diane Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Casey and Shawna Jones; sister, Irene Edler; and nieces, Ruby and Lily Edler. She will also be missed by the Rick McNeil family. Laura is preceded in death by her grandparents, Laura and Paul Lorentzen. She will be forever missed and adored by her many friends and extended family.

To our sweet Laura Lee…to the world, you may be one person but to us you mean the world. May God bless your heart.

Service will be held 4:00pm on Tuesday, June 21 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Laura would invite us to her beautiful home down on Lido Island to enjoy the boat parade, go caroling, for the girls to have an ornament exchange or just to have a meal together. She was an amazing part of the Pueblo tribe in the Indian Maidens program. Her smile, laughter and kindness will be sorely missed. RIP Laura!
