Obituary

Laura C. Bisbee

Our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister, Laura C. Bisbee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday the 13th of July, at Aegis Assisted Living home in Laguna Niguel, California, where she had lived since December of 2002.  She slipped away peacefully in her own room with her daughter Lana at her side.  She would have been 90 years old on August 2nd.  Mrs. Bisbee was preceded in death by her husband James L. Bisbee who passed away in January of 2002.  They had been married for 36 years and resided in Whittier the entire time.  Mrs. Bisbee was a native of California, having been born in Montebello. She was one of four children born to John and Lucy Vizio of Montebello, California, both natives of Italy.

Until she moved to Laguna Niguel, she was active in senior citizens groups at both St. Bruno Catholic Church and Saint Gregory Catholic church in Whittier. She was a giving and kind person, always wanting to do for others.  She regularly collected food products from local stores to hand out to the homeless and needy.  She continued her active lifestyle at Aegis and was always a participant in all the many activities.  She loved music, dancing, bingo, and found her greatest pleasure just being around people.  She didn?t know a stranger and left fond memories with everyone who knew her.  Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s disease was beginning to limit some of those activities but she still found great comfort in being around people and regular visits from loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Lana Besaw of Dana Point; a son-in-law, James Besaw, two grandchildren, Scott Besaw of San Clemente, and Jennifer Myers, of Gilbert, Arizona; and two grandchildren, Chad Besaw and Brittney Besaw of Cypress; and two siblings, brother Dominic Vizio of Pasadena and sister Nita Keller of Whittier.

The funeral will be held at White Emerson Mortuary Chapel, 13304 Philadelphia St, in Whittier at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, the 18th of July.
