  1. Honey,it has been 1 month since we said ‘see ya’. Yesterday was a bit rough, watching the “Masters” golf tournament w/out you, although, you were resting on the fireplace. Tiger couldn’t win w/out you cheering & banging your fist on the counter – but ‘sudden death’ you loved – more golf!. As I go through our/your stuff I am finding out more about you that I did not know. How much more of an incredible person you are then I ever knew. You never tooted your own bugle. We had many more years to keep learning about each other. We were still in the newlywed mode – freshness and ‘that’ deep love. I miss you, honey. Keep watching over us, and I’ll tread on with the pride of being your wifeand one word,’truly’ proud says/means alot. You taught me what marriage really means; how to be a good wife/companion, as you were the best husband in all the best senses of the word.
    I love you, Larry.

Larry and I were Platoon Commanders at 2nd Bn, 1st Marines in VietNam from February to October, 1970.

Larry and I flew back to the states together and his parents drove down from Ojai to pick us up on Los Angeles and then dropped me off at a relative’s apartment in Culver City in Los Angeles. Larry and I had the chance to play golf when he was in the Washington, D.C. area. I left the Marine Corps after three years to go to law school and of course, Larry went to law school at the end of his career and after getting out of the Corps. We had great discussions about not only the practice of law but also the Marine Corps every first week of November when either he or I would call the other for a Happy Birthday discussion. In addition, we spoke various times during the year about the practice of law.

Larry brought the same tenacity to the practice of law that he brought to being a Platoon Commander. I will remember always his wonderful laugh, the twinkle in his eye when he smiled and his absolute dedication to the Marines he commanded. He was not only an outstanding Marine, but an outstanding lawyer and it has been one of the great pleasures of my life to call Larry a friend. Larry – blue skies and calm weather, Semper Fi.

  3. Upon our return from VietNam, Larry and I became instant friends and hangout buddies while on recruiting duty in Los Angeles. Those were some wild times and I have to admit that we were politely escorted out of some of the better entertainment establishments in LA and the San Fernando Valley. An as usual, Larry being the great leader that he was, led us in the crawl-out like perect gentleman and then we would spend hours in uncontrollable laughter. We had some good times.

As we grew out of those years and went our own ways to start families, we never drifted apart. He became a part of my new family and my daughters always called him and his wife ‘aunt’ and ‘uncle’. I thought of him as a brother.

I’m glad that I had the opportunity to serve our country with him in uniform. I’m fortunate to have had him in my life as a friend. I’m grateful for the love he shared with my daughters, Daicia and Nikki, during their formulative years. They still call him ‘Uncle Larry’.

March on my friend, you have done well. Your footprints are those of honor, integrity, humor, and love of life.

You will be missed by all who crossed your path in life. My condolences to your family.

Larry, remember to never draw to an inside straight when trying to bluff Jesus on your Thursday night poker games.
