Kevin W. Barry, 56, of San Juan Capistrano, CA, beloved husband, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, died on February 7, 2017.

Kevin was born in Lincoln, NE. Later the family moved to Longmont, CO a suburb of Boulder. Kevin enjoyed trips to the family farm in Nebraska and spending time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kevin attended the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU Boulder) and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He loved hiking and the outdoors in Colorado and hiked many of the fourteeners, the Rocky Mountains that are at least 14,000 feet elevation. While at CU Boulder he joined ROTC and joined the US Army, he achieved the rank of Captain, he was an Airborne Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division. After his service in the Army, he moved to Southern California and had a long career in the Insurance Industry.

In August of 2016 Kevin and his wife, Cindy, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Kevin enjoyed volunteering for the Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT). He also loved being part of the ham radio operators for Tri-Cities RACES(race-ees). He enjoyed serving his community and being helpful in any way he could. He loved the Mission San Juan Capistrano, and loved the history of the town. Kevin and his wife enjoyed travelling, cooking, the beach and camping. Kevin was a pet lover and conservationist, and loved trips to the San Diego Safari Park.

Kevin is survived by his wife Cynthia Barry; brothers, Daniel Barry, and Ronald Barry; mother and father, William and Dolores Barry; sister-in-law Kathy Barry; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Beth Quintana; nieces, Morgan Barry, Brittney Hernandez; nephew, Ross Barry; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
