Obituary

Kenneth Leon Pickard, 77, of Mission Viejo, California, passed away July 4, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. at his residence.
Born January 13, 1940, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, he was the son of Harold and Ruth Lindley Pickard. His wife of 53 years Mary Ellen (Hall) Pickard survives.
Ken was a graduate of Marshall High School; Indiana State University (Bachelor’s degree); Ball State University (Master’s degree) and Northern Illinois University (Doctorate of Education). He taught school at Ball State University (5 years), and California State University Long Beach (33 years). Other survivors include his children, Todd (Josephine)Pickard and Marla Pickard Hester; two grandsons Trevor and Ty; and a sister Roleen Pickard.
Cremation was chosen. Graveside services for family only will be July 28th at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Marshall, Indiana. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to James Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 183109, Columbus, Ohio 43210; City Of Hope; and Care Choices Hospice and Palliative Services, Inc., 5 Corporate Park, Suite 100, CA 92606.
