Obituary

Keith Eugene Jorde

Keith was born December 27, 1930, in Thief River Falls MN, and went to Heaven June 23, 2016, following a heart attack while riding his bicycle.

Keith was blessed with a wonderful talent for singing and grew up singing in the Lutheran Church, in high school and college plays, and at weddings, funerals, many celebrations and performances.

Keith was a potato farmer who began selling 50 lb. bags of potatoes door to door in Minneapolis, while attending the University of Minnesota and earned a degree in Agriculture. He continued to market potatoes growing them in ten states and supplying them to General Mills. He flew his Bonanza Airplane to monitor his business and he joked his office was in the cockpit of his plane.

Keith served as a 1st Lt. Intelligence Officer in the United States Army in the 1950’s.

He married JoEllen Johnson and they lived in Hereford TX, had six children, Jim Jorde, John Jorde, Ellen Urrutia, Marta Gonzalez, Paul Jorde, and Andrea Beck.

He later married Patricia Pierce and they lived in Cave Creek AZ, and had two children, Jessica Anastasi and Jacob Jorde.

Keith married Sandra Jones Turner in 2002. They resided in Arizona, California, and wintered many years in Manzanillo MX. She survives, along with his 8 children, 1 stepson Jeff Turner, 18 grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Grant Jorde and Jim Jorde.

A Celebration of Life Service is to be held this fall in Cave Creek AZ.

My wife Kathy and I have spent many wonderful hours with Keith And Sandy Jorde. We enjoyed many outings with them and often shared good food and conversation. I often had one on one time with Keith, most often sharing information about the books we were reading or listening to. He had such a wide variety of interests but most often our conversation revolved around spiritual, religious and self help books. I will miss many things about him including seeing him walking or riding around the community on his bike as he often did. I have never met someone so dedicated to exercise. We miss him greatly and will always cherish the fond memories we have. He truly was a very generous and kind man. Mick Watkins

How nice of you Linda to comment so kindly about Keith. He was especially blessed to have your dad as our wonderful neighbor, golfing buddy, dining out friend and they became close as brothers. Blessings, Sandi Jorde
