Obituary

Kathrine “Kay” Marcia Alstrom aka Nanny was born March 21, 1943 in Glendale California and passed May 20, 2020. She was a pharmacy tech up until retirement who worked for pharmacist Jim Zelenay for decades and she loved her second family pharmacy crew. She was also a skilled handy woman who could fix practically anything in her many years of apartment management. Kay truly did everything and anything for anyone she could and always had an open door policy. Kay was THE humanitarian we should all strive to be. After retirement she enjoyed living in Leisure World where she loved her new friends. Kay touched everyone’s lives she met and maintained relationships with anyone she crossed paths with. She is survived by sister Rita, daughter Lisa (Tom), son Robert (Nicole), son Aaron (Dulce), and grandchildren Kristin (Ramon), Tyler, Bobby, Alex, Brooke, Kelly, Jacob, Andrew, Andrea, Ava, Lexi, great grandchildren Adrian, Henry, Oliver, Louis & Lucy, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Kay is preceded in death by mother Verna and brother David. She will be greatly missed by all and we know she is in heaven watching over us. A celebration of Kay’s life will be scheduled in the spring.

You were the best babysitter a little girl could ask for and I was so lucky to reconnect with you years later as was my mom and sister. You were such a sweet and gentle soul and will be greatly missed.
