Obituary

On Thursday May 11, 2017, Kathleen Liska passed away suddenly at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her children, Erick and Shannon, her former husband Phil, seven brothers and sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by both of her parents, John ‘Ken’ Mitchell, Lucille Mitchell née Richardson, and by her brother Gary.

In addition to raising her own children, Kathleen was often a second mom for other kids who found themselves in her home. She worked in several fields over her life but loved the years spent in software testing and development the most. Kathleen was an artist at heart and loved gardening, decorating, drawing, and painting. She had an abundance of compassion and would give almost anything that she could to help anyone who was in need.

Kathleen will be missed greatly and remembered always

One of our favorites memories of Lisa , Jen and I were of using Kathys house as our playground! We would swim in her pool for hours ( didn’t one of us jump off her roof into the pool), we played “Marco polo “with Eric and Shaonnon as Grandad , Sharon and kathy talked on the patio ,put tents up in the back yard, had many sleep over’s. Her back yard was filled with plants she loved, a fire pit where we roasted marshmallow, Shaonnon was forever practicing on the piano! Even more special are the time we all took our kids there to swim also, my kids remember Kathy is the one with the pool! Kathy provide us a home to grow up in and loved us girls as her own! Kathy, you will always be close to our hearts and who you were lives on in your children!

I’m so sorry to hear about Kathy’s passing.
The last time I remember Kathy, Shaonnon and Eric were teenagers.
I also remember her nice backyard and her Cocker Spanials.
She was a fantastic cook! I still have recipes that she hand wrote!

  3. Patty and I were so sorry to hear about Kathy’s passing. We would sure like to reconnect with this side of the family, we miss seeing all you guys. We are praying that God would comfort all of you.

  4. Dave and I are so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. She was close to our mom and was a bright spot in Mom’s declining days. She had real kindness and would call to see how Mom was doing. I wish I could tell her how her cheerfulness was such a boost in hard times. I know I speak for many in saying she’ll be missed very much. Condolences to her kids, and to her brother and sisters.
