Katherine Leslie Harmon Bell Leslie Harmon Bell was born on July 12, 1910 in New York City to George Howard Harmon and Marion Grant Leslie Harmon, and passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 in Laguna Woods, California. She was born Leslie Bell was one of seven surviving siblings.

Her father was an advertising executive in New York City until his passing during the depression years. Her mother was devoted to the many children that she raised. Leslie attended Sarah Lawrence College, and married Harrold Wright Bell Jr. on May 25, 1935.

She is survived by her three children, Clara Leslie Bell Parrish aka ?Tallie? William of Irvine, California, Christopher Harrold Mills Bell Margaret of Murphys, California, and Marquis Alexander Bell Linda of Pueblo, Colorado. Leslie is also survived by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren with one on the way, five step-great-grandchildren. Also, she is survived by a brother, Alexander Harmon Beatrice and a sister, Jean Harmon Baker as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

During World War II Leslie contributed to the war effort by helping to manufacture parachutes. She moved with her family from New York to Denver in 1951 when her husband accepted a position with Continental Air Lines and later to Laguna Beach, California when Continental moved its headquarters to Los Angeles in 1963.

While in Denver she worked for several years as secretary to psychiatrist Leo V. Teply, MD who in part treated patients who were afflicted with various criminal disorders.

Throughout her life she participated with several organizations devoted to her children’s activities including occasional camping trips in Colorado and the southwest and later with organizations concerned with charitable, community, and social redevelopment including chairing the Christian Social Relations Committee for St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, Village Laguna, the Free Clinic Program as well as involvement in zoning and environmental interests in Laguna Beach California.

Following her husband’s passing in 1987 she lived for several years in Santa Rosa, California returning to Southern California in early 1999. Often throughout her life she also indulged in artistic endeavors including oil painting and china painting. She also became an accomplished traveler visiting throughout the United States, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and New Zealand often collecting small works of art from locations reflecting cultural distinctions. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered but sadly missed by all.
