Karen Olason, born April 16,1944, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always a champion and lover of dogs; hers and all others. She was an auditor at Point Loma Credit Union and retired earlier this year after being in the banking industry for more than 30 years.

Karen’s favorite place was the beach. She was an avid reader and would regularly take her beach chair, her hat and her book and retreat to one of her favorite Southern CA beaches for an afternoon of bliss. Her love of books was rivaled by her passion for good food & wine. She loved to cook and continually tried new recipes, always eager to find a new favorite. But her greatest loves were her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Karen has three daughters and one son, all married with children: Krista (daughter) and Steve Kaelin live in Ohio. Robin (daughter) and Bill Ross live in Washington. Jeff (son) and Jane Elliott live in New Mexico. Tammy (daughter) and Mike Drechsler live in Southern California.

She was blessed with twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
