Karen Elizabeth Ulwick

Karen Elizabeth Norton (Ulwick), age 79, passed away peacefully at home September 27 following a brief illness.

Karen had a life filled with family, service and a love of people. When her children were young, Karen devoted herself to being a loving stay-at-home mother.

She also volunteered through her Catholic church supporting the spiritual growth of children and families. Karen had a deep compassion for those in need. She was an advocate for people experiencing homelessness and dedicated time to helping individuals and families who needed support. Her willingness to listen, encourage, and help others was an important part of who she was.

Karen enjoyed traveling, theater, the arts and activities that brought people together to explore and learn about the world, the various cultures and countries and to share their personal experiences.

Karen is survived by her husband, Richard Francis Norton; her daughters, Samantha Julie Norton and Alexandra Devin Losee; her grandsons, Hayes and Harrison; and her beloved best friend, Sheila Wills.

A private interment and celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Karen’s memory to Families Forward of Irvine or to a charity of your choice.

Karen’s kindness, compassion, and positive spirit will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
