Obituary
In Loving Memory of Kaiden Drew St. Martin (2000 – 2025)
Kaiden St. Martin, 24, of Dana Point, left this earth far too soon on October 5, 2025. Born November 10, 2000, Kaiden is the beloved son of Lyndsey St. Martin and Steven Shunk.
Kaiden’s wit and subtle sense of humor always seemed to surface at just the right moment. He loved tackling things other people found too complex, and he had an almost encyclopedic knowledge on just about any subject that caught his interest. He enjoyed making and building — from technical projects to creative experiments with his 3D printer.
He also loved chemistry and understanding how different elements reacted with each other. Equally passionate about collecting, Kaiden was drawn to electronics of every kind. Circuit boards, tiny gadgets, and pocket-sized pieces of technology especially captured his fascination. The forest and animals brought him peace, giving him balance alongside his passion for machines and problem-solving.
He earned many technical certifications including but not limited to CompTIA A+ and Network+ in Information Technology, as well as his Ham Radio license. A true technology enthusiast, he looked forward to using his skills in ethical hacking to pursue a career in the field of cybersecurity.
As Kaiden often showed through both his curiosity and his compassion, he reminds us that understanding the smallest parts — whether in machines, in nature, or in people — reveals the beauty of the whole.
He is survived by his parents, Lyndsey St. Martin and Steven Shunk, his stepfather Steve Laprise, and stepbrothers Steven and Jon Laprise. He will be dearly missed by his grandmothers, Marianne Shahian and Rosie Shunk. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Marianne and Mark Gonsalves and Kristian St. Martin, and by his cousins — Natalie and Juliet Gonsalves, Weston St. Martin — and is now forever reunited in spirit with his late cousin, Savannah Gonsalves. His legacy will live on in the laughter he sparked and the kindness he spread.
A celebration of Kaiden’s life will be held Sunday, October 19, at 2 p.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 82653. Friends and family are encouraged to bring a story, a photo, or a memory to share.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brain Research Foundation @ https://www.thebrf.org/
