He was born on September 30, 1959, in Arcadia, CA. An eighth generation Californio, Justin was proud of his family’s unique history, sharing about and attending many events at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe. He grew up in Long Beach, CA and spent his childhood on the beach. He spent a lot of his summers at the Fourth of July Yacht Club on Catalina Island. He graduated Wilson High School in 1977 and made many lifelong friendships in high school and college. He went to Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and received his BA degree in Professional Photography in 1987. He met the love of his life Jeannette Jones in 1977 at a ski club party. They were married at the Dominguez Chapel in 1985. They had two wonderful sons, Ryan and Carson. He spent time with the boys growing up in the Boy Scouts and Indian Guides (Trail Mix). They traveled together over the years and had some special trips to South Africa, Japan, Europe, BVI and Alaska.
Justin had so many hobbies, especially after he retired in 2017. He enjoyed photography, skiing, surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, boating, fishing, RC cars and airplanes, gun range, and most recently trail riding with his amazing horse Koda. He loved the riding groups he joined and was most recently with his Los Caballeros riding group on Catalina Island the day before he passed.

I did not know Justin in high school, but cherished his life’s journey through being Facebook friends. My condolences to his wife, son’s & family during this difficult time. May his memory bring you comfort and may he rest in peace.

My condolences to the family. I have so many fond memories or Justin. I met just working at Lynn’s pizza. We traveled the same circle but because I was 4 years younger it took Lynn’s to bring us together. I have such positive thoughts of conversations of surfing, sailing, boating and life. He was such a positive impact on me.
