Julianne Owens passed away at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, Albany, Oregon, on November 17, 2013.

Julie spent her childhood in Maysville, Missouri, and moved to Columbia, Missouri in 1959 with her parents, Lee and Harold Owens. She attended Jefferson Junior High School, Hickman High School, and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She then attended the University of Missouri and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Pursuing her nursing career, Julie worked in Columbia, Missouri, Seattle, Washington, and Fredericksburg, Virginia and was known for her caring attitude toward patients. Julie then became an information technology specialist for healthcare and worked at Samaritan Hospital in Albany, Oregon and also as a consultant for Computer Science Corporation. Julie loved animals and worked as a volunteer at SafeHaven Humane Society in Albany.

Julie is remembered for her welcoming love of people. She is survived by her sister, Christine McLaren; nephew, Graham McLaren, and his children, Yarrow, Coyote and Kestrel McLaren.

Interment was held at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest, California.
