Obituary

JULIAN JESUS DOPESO
(1947 – 2025)

Born on May 7, 1947, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Julian Maria de Jesus Di Pierro Dopeso was the son of Julian Dopeso and Zulma Di Pierro. He was called home to his Lord on August 6, 2025. A proud South American by birth, Julian embodied the spirit of the American Dream. After arriving in the United States in the 1970s, he built a successful and meaningful life. He settled in Orange County, California, where he founded his own business and made the area his beloved home. California became Julian’s paradise. He found joy in running through Newport’s Back Bay and sharing meals at his favorite restaurants, Houston’s and Il Fornaio. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures like white shoes, fine cigars, and tequila. Above all, Julian’s heart belonged to his family. He never let a moment pass without expressing his love, and he will be remembered as a legendary husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Julian is survived by his beloved wife, Wai Yi Abbe Lee; his three children: Michael (Lauren), whom he shared with Terri, and Connor (Madison) and Madeline, whom he shared with Toni; his granddaughter, Amelia; his sister, Marita, and brother, Alejandro; his nieces, Cecilia (Marcos) and Ines, along with seven great-nieces and nephews.
