IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia Ann
Klein
July 17, 1960 – June 26, 2023
Julia Ann Skeens Klein passed away at the age of 62 on Monday, June 26, 2023, in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Julia (Julie) was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Skeens, and by her grandson, Andrew Beckstead.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Klein, her three children, Jill (Ben) Beckstead, Marshall (Jessica) Klein, and Addy (Trevon) Roney, her 11 grandchildren, her mother, Jeanene Skeens Smith, and her sister, Peggy Caratelli.
Julia was born on July 17, 1960, in East Liverpool, Ohio. She had many wonderful childhood memories and was proud of her small-town roots. She enjoyed time outside and always wanted to be a cowgirl. She loved her pets and exploring the outdoors.
Julia attended one year at Brigham Young University and met Mark, the love of her life in October of 1978. Julia and Mark had an enjoyable courtship and were married May 11, 1979, in the LDS Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.
After Mark's graduation, they moved to Thousand Oaks, CA while Mark attended Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, CA. After graduation, they started their family in Irvine, CA and welcomed the birth of their first child, Jill. Subsequent years later, they moved to the Trabuco Canyon area and had two more children, Marshall and Addy.
Julia was an amazing wife and mother and enjoyed watching her children grow up. She gave them a happy childhood, always being a listening ear and planning fun activities. Her sacrifices were endless, and she would do anything for her family. She made sure her children were taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She had several jobs throughout her life, including various administrative positions. Julia also enjoyed being active in her community serving on different committees and boards.
Her hobbies included spending time with family, reading, decorating, hiking, exercising, and at one point, beekeeping. Julia also loved a wide variety of TV, ranging from Hallmark movies to investigative crime shows.
Julia was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Her faith sustained her throughout all her life's struggles including her cancer diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma (LMS) in early 2014 which led to an almost decade-long battle.
She enjoyed faithfully serving in a variety of volunteer positions for her church, but her true love was working with the young primary and nursery children. She loved attending her church's temple and completing her family history.
Julia found great joy in spending time with her grandkids and absolutely loved reading stories to them and taking them out in nature. She loved planning one-on-one dates with them, attending their sports and activities, and always made a point to fly out to be there on all their birthdays.
Her love for her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, were very important to her and helped her get through her darkest days. She had a firm testimony of God's love for us and always mentioned how she felt God's grace giving her strength. Julia was a light to all who knew her and was a friend to everyone.
