Obituary

Judy Belser nee Judith Ann Nichols
July 11, 1955- April 22, 2009

Judy passed away peacefully at Mission Hospital on April 22nd after a brief illness. On that day she went home to heaven and is now rejoicing with God and her beloved mother and other dear friends and family members that predeceased her.

The beloved daughter of Wharton A., DDS and Joyce E. Nichols, she was born at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., the third of their four children. She spent her early years traveling with her military family to Germany, West Point in New York, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and finally to Honolulu, Hawaii. She completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and shortly thereafter moved to Napa Valley, California to pursue her career. She rekindled a friendship from Hawaii with Vince Belser, who was attending San Francisco University, and he helped her to settle in to her new environment. This friendship soon blossomed into a life-long love affair; Judy and Vince were married on August 22, 1984. Vince then joined the Marine Corps and received officer training in Quantico, Virginia and flight training in Pensacola, Florida. Judy relished her role of military wife, as her mother had before her, and she and Vince loved all of their assignments, making many devoted friends along the way. Finally, they made their home in Mission Viejo for the past 25 years. They have one beautiful daughter, Callan Justine, who is 20 years old and attending college in Delray Beach, Florida.

Judy loved life, and lived her life to the fullest as a devout Christian. She was the most devoted wife and mother, daughter and sister, cousin and niece, and best friend to untold numbers of people. Our Judy never met a stranger. No matter where she was, she always made a positive impact on the peoples lives she touched. This beautiful soul will be so very missed.

Judy is survived by her husband Vince and her daughter Callan; her father, Wharton; brothers Ken and Greg Cindy and her sister Kathy Hank; her puppies Malibu and Snickers and favorite feline Sadie.

Memorial Service will be held at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, 24772 Chrisanta Drive, Mission Viejo, 92691. There will be a celebration of Judy’s life and open house at the Belser residence immediately following. 1. Judy was a wonderful parent volunteer in my classroom when Callan was a student of mine. She taught dental health to my class, and was always there when help was needed. Over the years our paths have crossed in the community, and I am so saddened to learn of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you Callan, and your dad.

I will never forget the first day I met Judy. It was at a COSTCO store where this lovely, smiling Lady and her pretty young daughter, Callan, came up to our EcoQuest display booth and began asking questions about our products. After learning of the business opportunity her comment was a positive, “I can do this!”
She is a jewel of a Lady! A choice daughter of our Heavenly Father. She brought joy, enthusiasm, excitement, integrity, happiness and beauty into our lives.
When our 19 year old son died unexpectedly last October we received a very special call from her immediately after she heard the news. Then she followed up the call with a very thoughtful card and long note of concern and condolence. She was a special Lady and a very kind friend.
I enjoyed receiving her e-mails on a variety of topics. She had a deep and abiding love for our country and a concern for our men in uniform.
We are all better off because of knowing her. She will be missed and ALWAYS REMEMBERED!

Vince & Callan,I am shocked at the news of Judy’s passing. She was such a lady and a true friend. I first met Judy at Costco during an Ecoquest Roadshow. She was such a delight with her radient smile. We became good friends and associates via Ecoquest. She shared her home for many meetings and I always felt her warmth and heart felt friendship. She truly loved her family and friends. I moved to Arizona and kind of lost touch, but, every so often Judy would send a real gem of an email, always expressing her patriotism and love of family. She always brought a smile to my heart and I will never forget her.
Vince and Callan, you are in my prayers.
Judy, pray for us as we pray for you.

I am Judy’s 1st cousin Bob. I first met Judy and her family when she was about 8 years old. We made a trip to Washington DC where my Uncle Nick was stationed. And, I can’t remember whether they were living in Silver Spring MD or Wheaton MD. Anyway, Judy and her family were special because they traveled so much and had an exciting life, I always thought. Through the years I sort of lost touch with the Nichols family except what my mom Hilda Judy’s mom’s oldest sister would share about them from time to time. Once I had a business trip to Southern CA and decided to call my mom who asked if I knew that Judy and Vince were living not far from where I was staying. I called and was able to spend 2 1/2 days with Vince, Judy and a very young soccer player named Calan. They had such a lovely home and Judy was such an awesome cook. We spent many hours reminiscing about how our lives had gone. I even found a bible that my brother Mike had given to Judy when she was living in Hawaii. It even had a special dedication from Mike who has now gone on to be with Jesus for almost 31 years. I’ve been praying for Vince, Judy and Calan now for many years. I know she’s been able to hug both her mom Joyce and my brother Mike already.
