Juanita was born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 9, 1948, to Warren and Norma (Lucart) Plunkett. She resided in Sioux City until 1977 and then moved to Brownsville, Texas. Shortly after, she moved to Lake Forest, California in 1978 where she resided until her passing.

Juanita married Gary Golden on January 26, 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa. A loving wife and mother, she remained very close to her children and family throughout her life. Hard working and dedicated, she worked at Aalfs Manufacturing, Concrete Pipe Machinery, and Joe Morton Insurance in Sioux City before moving to California. While it has been several years since I last spoke with Nita, I have never stopped cherishing the fond memories I have of a special Thanksgiving dinner when the Golden Family opened up their home to me. All of my family was in Iowa, so Nita made sure I was not alone. For that I am very grateful. Nita was in top form that day telling embarrassing stories of her wonderful children. It was very evident that day just how much Nita loved Tif and Aaron, and that she was very proud of the two of them. I was also fortunate to join Nita, family, and friends on a Vegas weekend. What a hoot we had that weekend. It is times like that which I will always remember when thinking of Nita.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Golden Family. Gary, Tif, and Aaron please know that you are not alone. Be assured that your Mother is watching over all of you and will always be a part of your lives.

My heart dropped when I learned of Anita’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years in both Santa Ana and Irvine and truly enjoyed our conversations. She knew how to tell a story and I loved listening to them. From her days in Iowa to what the kids had been up to the previous weekend, her great sense of humor always came through. I will miss her stories and our conversations and I’m sorry we lost touch a few years ago. To Gary and the kids, my sympathies to you for such a loss. I’m sure you know just how special Anita was, she touched so many peoples’ lives.
RIP Anita, it was a blessing knowing you.
