Obituary

Joyce Jeanne Wade was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 1, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to Gustav (Gus) Von Toussaint and Nina Clarisse Townsend. After 93 years she died August 17, 2017 in Ladera Ranch, CA. Interment will be with her husband at the Wade Ranch.

Prior to her marriage to the love of her life September 9, 1944 in St. Ann’s Church in San Antonio, she participated in ROTC. After graduating from high school she worked for military officers at an army base in San Antonio during World War II.

Joyce lived in San Antonio off and on till 1990 when she and her loving husband Harold Dale (Buddy) Wade, Sr. moved to Laguna Woods (Leisure World), CA. Other locations in Texas where she lived included Dallas, Lubbock, Austin, Houston, and Corpus Christi.

She lived a Christian life attending church and holding Bible Study meetings in her home. She nurtured her family with love and affection throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling across the country and in Italy, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, Hawaii and cruises on the St Lawrence River, Mexico and the West coast.

Her devoted daughter Shanon and her husband Bill were her life line since her husband died in 2003. They took her on various trips, saw to all her needs and made sure she had as much fun in life as possible.

During her last days, special care was given by her sister Yvonne Ricciardi and niece Yvette Little.

Survived by: her son Harold Dale (Skip) Wade, Jr. and wife Patricia (Pat) Wade of Limestone, County, TX; daughter Shanon Nina (Wade) Moffatt and husband William (Bill) Moffatt of Ladera Ranch, CA; devoted sister Yvonne Kathryn (Honey) (Von Toussaint) Ricciardi of Laguna Woods; grandchildren Jake Wade and wife Sonja Wade of Boynton Beach, FL; Jason Wade of College Station, TX, Shanell (Moffatt) Pierce and husband Dr. Jerome Pierce of Del Mar, CA; Allison (Moffatt) Brennan and husband Daniel Brennan of Pleasanton, CA; 8 great grandchildren with one on the way. She has 2 nieces, 2 nephews and extended family dispersed across the nation.
