Josephine Catherine Segro

Josephine Segro passed away on the 19th of April 2019 in Mission Viejo, California. She just celebrated her 91 ^st birthday.

“Jo” was born in Derby, Connecticut on March 19, 1928; the first child of Dominick and Alice Mingrone. She attended St Joseph College, West Hartford earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition.  She studied at Veterans Administration Hospital in Bronx, NY and worked as a Therapeutic Dietician at Greenwich Hospital in CT, Mercy Hospital in MD and Harvard Hospital in IL. Later in life, she became a realtor with Durbin Stovall Realty in IL and First Team Realty in CA.

She met her husband, Nicholas while working in New York whom she married in 1954 and had 4 children. Josephine was a devoted wife, loving mother and active grandmother.  Josephine successfully balanced her family and work priorities.

Her passions included traveling throughout the world, the Pacific Symphony, the casino, fashion and her weekly prayer group.  She had an incredible circle of friends and was a very active woman. In fact, her nickname was “Jo Go”!

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Vincent Mingrone, her son Richard Segro and her granddog Charlie. She is survived by her sons Ronald Segro, Stephen Segro, daughter Donna Stokley and her grandchildren Amanda Segro and Cole Stokley.

We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

A Funeral Mass will be given on April 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, California.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
