Joseph Luke Welch, 80, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Laguna Niguel, California.

He was born on June 4, 1944, in Flushing, New York. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and later earned a masters degree from Georgetown University. A retired Army captain, he dedicated his life to service, both in the military and as a civil engineer, working until the age of 80. A devout Catholic, he lived his faith through kindness, integrity, and a deep commitment to his family. He is honored on the veterans legacy memorial website.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, with whom he raised their four children. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Timothy and Christopher; daughters, Jennifer and Cheryl; grandchildren, Alli and Collyn; partner, Sandra; and sister, Kathleen.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 21, at Saint Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel, followed by a reception at the church hall from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. An interment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
